The bean seller in the San Salvador
market. San Salvador is a big, noisy, dusty, metropolis. |
| A tipico street in San Salvador.
It doesn't look like a big city from here. |

Tipico aprons San Salvador.
Many of the cocina women wear these frilly lacy aprons. |
| Betsey: Audrey
from Seafari rented a car and took a few of the women on a road trip
through El Salvador on Mother's Day, 2004. Many of us women
spend all of our time with spouses, so it was a treat to spend the day
with just other women. This is Audrey and Cloudagh from Chipita
in a pueblo market |

We found ourselves in this
small dusty town, in the Mercado, the only Gringas anywhere in
sight. Linda from Sera had wandered off somewhere, so I don't
have and photos of her from this trip. We sure had fun! We had
so much fun we came back after dark, much later than we said we would
be. The menfolk confessed they thought we were highjacked by
bandits or worse... |
| Cloudagh had the Lonely
Planet Guide, and I was content to let her navigate, so I don't
remember where this clock tower is. But notice the earthquake damage,
and its disconcerting skew. |
